Order Book Heatmap Live - Bitcoin Bid and Ask Walls, Liquidity Over Time and Price

What is an order book heatmap?

An order book heatmap visualizes the limit orders resting in the exchange's order book — bid and ask walls — across time (horizontal) and price (vertical), recorded in 5-minute snapshots. The larger the resting orders at a price level, the brighter (more yellow) it appears. A bright band that persists at the same price means large displayed liquidity has continued to appear there across snapshots.

Bright bands below the current price are bid walls — potential support areas that may absorb selling as price falls. Bands above are ask walls — potential resistance areas that may absorb buying. Because changes in displayed order size are reflected across snapshots, this kind of depth map is used as one input in support and resistance analysis.

How it differs from a liquidation heatmap

  • Order book heatmap: displayed resting orders (measured). When price reaches a large wall it may encounter additional liquidity — though a wall can also be cancelled or consumed quickly.
  • Liquidation heatmap: estimated liquidation concentrations. If price reaches those levels, forced closures could add additional market flow.
  • Reading both together lets you compare displayed order-book liquidity with estimated liquidation concentrations.

How to read it

  • Bright horizontal bands: price levels with large resting orders. Longer persistence is stronger evidence of displayed liquidity; a band that vanishes suddenly was cancelled or moved.
  • Price interaction: a bounce near a wall may mean the displayed liquidity absorbed the move; price cutting through means the liquidity was consumed, cancelled or moved.
  • Timeframes (12H-30D): short windows show near-term walls; long windows show the big walls that have held for days.
  • Chart anatomy: the left color bar maps color to order size ($), candles overlay the price action, and the dotted line marks the current price.
  • Hover: tooltips show the time, price bucket and order size at any point.

Features

  • 30 coins: Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP, Dogecoin and other major Binance futures pairs.
  • Merge, filter, resolution: merge adjacent price buckets (1x/2x/4x) to aggregate liquidity across a wider range, filter out small orders to leave only major walls, and pick 5m-4h resolutions per timeframe.
  • Order-size CVD: cumulative executed-volume delta grouped into five trade-size buckets (retail to whale) — useful for spotting divergences where large and small traders lean opposite ways.
  • Futures/spot toggle: switch to the Binance spot order book and spot CVD. Spot liquidity can add context when assessing potential support or resistance for futures prices, so comparing both is a useful cross-check.

Data is aggregated from Binance USDT-M futures (or spot) order book depth in 5-minute snapshots. Only data since collection began is shown — order books cannot be reconstructed retroactively — so coverage becomes more complete over time. Pair this page with the real-time liquidations and long/short ratios for a fuller picture.
